SAVOCA: Giuseppe Savoca
Giuseppe Savoca is a contemporary craftsman who has fallen into the world of millinery through a desire to retrieve emotions he once had as a Jewellery box maker. Committed to the world of creation Giuseppe has a multicultural background spread between Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. His eye for refinement brings together fine craftsmanship acquired across Europe and beyond, into re-visioning techniques with a modern touch.
After he obtained a Master’s Degree with Honours as a fine Jewellery box maker and Leather goods making in Geneva (for the likes of Harry Winston, Cartier, De Beers, Van Cleef & Arpels…). Giuseppe was driven to fuse his traditional skills with the creative freedom of fashion. He has a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni, having previously completed an undergraduate degree in Fashion History and Design.
Since 2009, Giuseppe Savoca worked exclusively in the luxury industry, collaborating with exclusive fashion houses for red carpet events such as the Academy Awards (The Oscars), Cannes Film Festival, BAFTA’s and Royal Ascot.
Following his wish to merge techniques together, hat blocking became the missing link to express fully his artistry skills. In 2015 Giuseppe trained in millinery with Philip Wright in Luton. Since the launch of SAVOCA, Giuseppe’s designs have been exhibited in the USA, with accreditation by well-established institutions. With SAVOCA, Giuseppe blends artisanal techniques and noble materials to create an art form driven by a legacy. A singular vision that merges bold urbanity with Haute Couture on a timeless style.
