Paul Ventress is a skilled hat maker specialising in designs traditionally categorised as men’s hats, though many of these styles are now unisex. He began his hat-making journey in 2010, creating a tricorn hat for a Halloween costume, which sparked his passion for crafting period costumes and re-enactment pieces.
A few years later Paul expanded into modern, contemporary men’s hats and western styles, drawing on traditional methods passed down by men’s hatters for generations. His roots in period costume design add a touch of drama and a backstory to his modern creations.
Through his brand, Paul Ventress Bespoke Hatters, Paul creates bespoke hats for celebrities, rock stars, period costume productions, re-enactors and private clients.
His work spans styles from the 1600s to the modern day, using materials such as fur felt, straw, and leather.
