Showtime for Hats | Exhibition

Hats Made Me | A second exhibition to visit

There is a second exhibiton in Luton, with more hats made by theatrical milliners and other members of The British Hat Guild. It’s called Hats Made Me and it’s a 30 minute walk away from Hat Works at Stockwood Discovery Centre. Tickets for Hats Made Me are £6.50 and under 10s are free.

Hats Made Me features more than 200 objects. The exhibition includes a red visor design chosen by Beyoncé for Vogue, a bridal hat worn by Cara Delevingne in Vogue and Michael Keaton’s cowl from Batman. It is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind, pulling together practical and purposeful headwear, with wonderful and whimsical costume from stage and screen. The exhibition explores why we wear hats, and how headwear is used to protect and transform, to say something, and to mean something. See some of the hats on Yona Lesger’s instagram (the curator) www.instagram.com/yona.lesger
