London Craft Week

13 - 19 May 2024

Each year London Craft Week celebrates outstanding British and international creativity, bringing together over 750 established and emerging makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world.

Four British Hat Guild members showcased their work at the festival this year:

Nikole Tursi presented a curated collection of pieces in her first solo show, ‘Beyond The Art of Craft’ in Covent Garden. Inviting visitors to delve into her creative universe, the show represented years of dedication, passion and creativity.

Bridget Bailey presented her Garden of Making at the inaugural Craftworks fair at Shoreditch Town Hall. Bridget’s artworks are inspired by her allotment: from millinery and textiles to fly-tying, they grow from her making experiences and their delicacy echoes the fragile ecology that inspires her.

Lucy Barlow showed alongside Heritage Crafts at Craftworks, demonstrating her work to visitors. Heritage Crafts is the national charity for traditional heritage crafts, providing a focus for craftspeople, groups, societies, and guilds. Lucy holds their current President’s Award for Endangered Crafts.

Karen Henriksen showed her range of lighting at Future Icons Selects exhibition at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf. Presented under the label Studio KH, her sculptural and ephemeral lightshades draw on Karen’s millinery expertise and distinctive design ethos.
